An official statement regarding the current situation of film director Rasoulov
The Iranian filmmaker, Mohammad Rasoulof, has been summoned by the Culture and Media Prosecution Office to serve his one year in prison. Rasoulof has been sentenced to one-year imprisonment for spreading propaganda against the regime and prohibited from association and membership in any political and social organizations. He is also banned from leaving the country for two years.
Mohammad Rasoulof’s latest film, “There is No Evil,” was awarded the Golden Bear at Berlinale two days ago. He was unable to attend the festival since he is barred from leaving the country.
