The documentary film Moonshadow has received the prestigious Premio al coraggio award at the Cinema di Dea festival. The jury praised the filmmakers’ exceptional courage and the powerful story the film tells, highlighting its contribution to amplifying women’s voices and promoting human rights in cinema.

 

🎬 Rainbow’s Tale had its premiere on May 30, 2025, at the 65th Zlín Film Festival in the Czech Republic, featured in the “Beyond the Childhood Horizon” section. This 85-minute debut by director Saleh Alavizadeh, produced by Kaveh Farnam, brings together seven interconnected stories of children confronting violence, from forced marriage to child labor. Inspired by the real-life story of Kian Pirfalak, the film offers a powerful reflection on hidden pain and the resilience of the young.

Directed by Iranian-American filmmaker Reza Bird, Revolution 3.0 will be screened as part of the Czech Competition at the One World International Human Rights Documentary Film Festival.

About the Film:

In 2016, Iranian director and editor Reza Bird was forced to leave his home country due to his political and social activism. Seeking refuge in Los Angeles with his family, he continued to build his career while staying deeply connected to the ongoing unrest in Iran. Over time, he became actively involved in the revolutionary movement, supporting anti-government protests from afar.

Revolution 3.0 tells the story of both personal and societal transformation—a revolution in Bird’s own life as well as in his homeland.

Through a dynamic, collage-like narrative, the film interweaves Bird’s autobiographical storytelling with footage of recent protests in Iran, widely shared on social media. It highlights how modern technology has become a powerful tool—both personally and politically—for overcoming vast distances and reclaiming control over one’s own story and its interpretation.

Three Awards for „Me, Maryam, the Children, and 26 Others“ at the 46th Efebo d’Oro Film Festival in Palermo, Dedicated to Independent Artists

„Me, Maryam, the Children, and 26 Others“, written and directed by Farshad Hashemi, won three prestigious awards at the 46th Efebo d’Oro Film Festival in Palermo, Italy: the Best Film Award (Prospettive Award), the Mancini Award, and the Audience Award.

Farshad Hashemi dedicated these awards to Iranian independent artists, emphasizing their resilience and commitment to freedom:

„Our main goal in making this film was to capture the true essence of the Iranian people—a reality long concealed under the heavy weight of censorship. For decades, censorship has created countless challenges for Iranian artists, yet many continue to fight bravely against it, refusing to let this dark shadow distort the truth.“
