Synopsis
In the rugged Kurdish borderlands between Iran and Iraq—where remnants of war still lurk beneath the soil—a lone activist devotes his life to saving others. By day, he farms the land; by heart, he educates and protects his people from the hidden threat of landmines that continue to claim lives decades after the war’s end. Where I Stand is a poetic documentary that follows this silent warrior as he clears paths to safety, weaving in the stories of survivors who carry both scars and resilience. Through a lyrical lens, the film captures the enduring danger, the strength of community, and the quiet heroism found in one man’s mission to transform tragedy into awareness.

Directers bio / filmography
Ghazaleh Razavi is an Iranian documentary filmmaker, photographer, and cultural researcher. Since 2005, she has been engaged in ethnographic research and writing, and from 2005 to 2012, she worked as a book editor in Publishing.
She began her journey in documentary photography in 2012, focusing primarily on women’s lives and experiences. Since 2018, she has directed three documentary films with a poetic and humanistic approach.
