Posted On July 13On Friday, July 8th, Mohammad Rasoulof and Mostafa Aleahmad, respected and dedicated Iranian filmmakers, were arrested in their residences and transferred to Evin prison. A day later Jafar Panahi was arrested while he was waiting in front of the prison with other filmmakers to enquire about the arrest.
As we continue to strongly condemn the authorities for their disregard of basic human rights and civil liberties and the persistent repression and pressure inflicted on independent Iranian filmmakers, we demand the immediate and unconditional release of our colleagues.
We ask for support from artists and filmmakers all over the world for the release of the imprisoned artists.
